"Fall 2016 Stanford e-Japan" is Launched

August 27th, 2016

The kick-off session of a distance-learning course on U.S. society and culture offered by the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) intended for selected Japanese high school students from around Japan called “Fall 2016 Stanford e-Japan” was held on August 27th.

From Takatsuki Senior High School two highly motivated second-year students belonging to the GA course applied for this course and both are admitted to it. Nearly 30 students from all over Japan are going to participate in 12 60-minute “virtual classes” via the Internet. They are also required to allot 3-4 hours per week to complete the discussions, readings, and assignments, and finally they are supposed to complete an independent research project in English. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from SPICE, Stanford University.

Using PCs on which a special application is installed, course students briefly in turn introduced themselves to their instructor Ms. Waka Brown and course mates after her course guidance.
